RE/MAX Celebrates 25 Years of Miracles

Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields, Miracle Child Angelica and others from RE/MAX celebrate at the 2017 RE/MAX R4 convention

SALT LAKE CITY (March 8, 2017) – Every minute, 62 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for treatment; every 30 seconds, a RE/MAX agent helps someone find their perfect place. Last year, RE/MAX Affiliates in the U.S. and Canada donated over $10 million to 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through the Miracle Home and Miracle Property programs.

Since 1992, RE/MAX agents and brokers have invested in the well-being of their local communities by raising more than $150 million for 170 CMN Hospitals. Each donation helps fund pediatric medical equipment, treatments, charitable care and other healthcare services for local CMN hospitals. As the contributions continue to grow, RE/MAX Associates are able to aid a larger number of sick and injured children.

We love all of the RE/MAX Miracle Agents and Offices,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “For the last 25 years these agents have done so much to help kids in local communities throughout the U.S. and Canada, and we are deeply grateful.”

In addition to participating in the Miracle Home and Miracle Property programs, RE/MAX offices and agents generate donations through benefit dinners, golf tournaments, auctions and other community fundraisers. Many RE/MAX Associates also visit and volunteer at their local children’s hospitals to further support the millions of kids who receive treatment at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.

“It’s truly amazing just how generous RE/MAX Affiliates are, as they’ve continued putting their time and money where the miracles are for the past 25 years,” said Mike Reagan, Senior Vice President, Business Alliances, RE/MAX, LLC. “RE/MAX agents and brokers understand the importance of CMN Hospitals and the impact the 170 hospitals make on children’s lives. RE/MAX Affiliates truly help make miracles happen with their incredible support.”

The extraordinary support and donations from RE/MAX Affiliates help kids like Miracle Child Angelica Hale, who spent 80 days in Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hospital. She developed a bacterial infection in her lungs that caused her to fight for her life when she was merely four years old. The infection caused her to spend weeks in ICU and nearly two years on peritoneal dialysis. She later underwent a kidney transplant after finding out her mother was a perfect match. Today, the talented nine-year-old loves to sing and travels the country sharing her incredible story.

Last week, Angelica inspired over 6,000 RE/MAX Affiliates at the RE/MAX R4 Convention in Las Vegas, February 27-March 2. While at the annual event, she joined Opening General Session host Wayne Brady and special guest Miss America Savvy Shields onstage where she shared her story and thanked the audience for their support and generosity. She also graced the audience with her powerful singing voice, singing Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All.”

Throughout the week Angelica inspired RE/MAX agents and brokers to raise more than $100,000 at a live auction event, where travel packages, jewelry and an office visit from Miss America were among the items auctioned off.
