Nick Cannon to Host Facebook Live Broadcast During #ChildrensHospitalsWeek

SALT LAKE CITY (March 16, 2017) — During a two-hour social media entertainment and fundraising experience, longtime Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals supporter, Nick Cannon, will host a Facebook Live-athon from CMN Hospital’s annual “Momentum” conference near Orlando, Fla.

Going live at 10 a.m. (EST) on Friday, March 24, Cannon will be joined by Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields, legendary NFL quarterback Steve Young and singer Alli Simpson. A cyber homage to CMN Hospital’s trademark telethons, the event tops a week of activities and celebrations in honor of the first #ChildrensHospitalsWeek, March 20-27. Established in 2017 by CMN Hospitals, #ChildrensHospitalsWeek is intended to raise awareness of the importance of children’s hospitals, and to highlight the many ways donations help kids get the best care when they need it. The Facebook Live-athon will also recognize an extraordinary child from each state and Canada who demonstrate the impact of local giving.

Cited by People Magazine as one of the top ten most successful young people in Hollywood, Nick Cannon is a multi-faceted entertainer who serves as the CEO of teen magazine Celebrity High, as well as Chairman of TeenNick, Nickelodeon’s television network geared toward the teen audience. Despite the demands of his acting and hosting duties, he leverages his resources to give back to those in need by supporting various national charities, in addition to running his own nonprofit, the Nicholas Scott Cannon Foundation.

Nick has been a supporter of the CMN Hospitals’ mission since 2009, with recent participation in the “Superheroes for Kids” PSA campaign, as host of Island Def Jam Rocks Times Square and participation in the annual Momentum conference. His own battle with lupus has helped Nick relate to CMN Hospitals kids, showing them success is achievable, despite a chronic condition.

“The impact Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals have on the 170 communities they serve is beyond measure,” Cannon noted. “I’m excited to use Facebook to help focus on all the good things children’s hospitals do every day, while also raising money so they can continue to change the lives of the kids they treat.”

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treat 62 kids every minute. To make a donation to your local children’s hospital, click here in the U.S. and here in Canada.
