Six Appointed to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Board of Governors

SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 22, 2016) — Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a charity raising funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America, recently named six new members to its Board of Governors. Each will support the fundraising, development and awareness functions of CMN Hospitals, promote the cause of children’s hospitals throughout the business community and help attract companies to support the organization’s mission of saving and improving kids’ lives.

The new members include:

Javaune Adams-Gatson, vice president for student life at The Ohio State University, oversees student life operations and is an avid supporter of Buckeyethon, the University’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon. An advocate for creating and sustaining on-campus philanthropy, “Dr. J” brings extensive experience working with all levels of the university structure.

Sarah Canepa Bang, executive vice president corporate relations of Co-Op Financial Services, has served in numerous key positions in the credit union industry since the late 70s. Bang touts the Credit Unions for Kids movement as the best consumer-facing campaign executed by the credit union movement and has influence with credit unions throughout the U.S.

Mario Carrera, chief revenue officer, Entravision, has been involved with managing Univision-affiliated television stations for over 20 years. The Harvard University graduate brings a comprehensive understanding of engaging U.S. Latinos across various media channels.

Bill Cheney, president and CEO of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, is highly respected throughout the credit union movement. As the former president and CEO of the Credit Union National Association, Cheney has developed relationships and influence with industry contacts throughout the nation.

Mary Dolaher, founder and chief executive officer of IRL Events, a leading producer of large trade shows and fanfests, has been named several times as one of the most innovative people in the American events industry. Dolaher has worked with the video game industry for over two decades, and her related knowledge and connections have proved immensely helpful in furthering the mission of CMN Hospitals through Extra Life, its gaming marathon.

Drew Horowitz, president and chief operating officer of Hubbard Radio, LLC, has more than 30 years of broadcasting experience and provides great insight into the evolving media landscape. Horowitz’s support of CMN Hospitals aligns with his belief that serving the local community builds brand loyalty among consumers.
