Marc Bulger Shines at Ace Shootout, Secures Victory for WVU Medicine Children’s

Supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® and Celebrating the Power of Community

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (Thursday, April 24) – The 2025 Ace Shootout delivered another exciting competition and a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting children’s healthcare. Former NFL quarterback Marc Bulger brought his competitive spirit to the green, playing to raise funds and awareness for WVU Medicine Children’s and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals).

The Ace Shootout, an annual event, unites celebrity guests from sports and entertainment in a series of engaging golf challenges. Ace Hardware, along with its dedicated partners Milwaukee Tool, CRAFTSMAN, and SharkBite, generously sponsors the event, making donations to participating celebrities’ chosen CMN Hospitals possible.

Bulger’s involvement is inspired by many CMN Hospitals Champions, including his meaningful connection with Parker during the 2018 Ace Shootout, who is a remarkable young man from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the 2015 Ace All-Star. Marc’s relationship with Parker blossomed at a previous Ace Hardware event, where he was profoundly impacted by Parker’s resilience and the critical role CMN Hospitals play.

Parker’s journey began with a prenatal diagnosis of hydrocephalus, an excess fluid buildup in the brain. His parents faced a future filled with uncertainty, grappling with the potential impact on his development.

However, Parker defied expectations. Despite being born with significant challenges, he thrived, developing a vibrant personality and becoming a passionate advocate.

Marc Bulger shared his heartfelt reflections on the event and his connection to the cause: “This is my seventh trip here…and I changed my whole mission statement on my foundation because these kids have made such an impact on myself and my family. You don’t know what these kids are going through and they’re always smiling. It really gives me the perspective I need, and that’s why I enjoy it so much.”

Bulger’s participation underscores the vital role of the Ace Shootout in providing resources for children’s hospitals. “Knowing that every swing supports kids and families facing medical challenges as those Parker and his family have overcome, makes this event incredibly special,” Bulger stated.

The 2025 Ace Shootout culminated in Marc Bulger winning $25,000 for WVU Medicine Children’s. Demonstrating his incredible generosity, Bulger matched that amount with a personal donation, bringing the total contribution to $50,000.

“The Ace Shootout exemplifies the incredible partnership between Ace Hardware, its vendors, and our organization,” added Aimee J. Daily, Ph.D., President & CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “This event not only raises significant funds for children’s healthcare but also shines a light on the vital work they do in communities across the country. The dedication of everyone involved, from the celebrities to the sponsors, makes a profound difference for children and their families at our member hospitals”

About Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals:

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals was founded more than 40 years ago with the vision to Change Kids’ Health, Change the Future. We’ve raised over $9 billion for 170 children’s hospitals by empowering and engaging with local communities and businesses – and we’re not done yet. All donations benefit local member hospitals to fund what’s needed most, like critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, child life services that put kids’ and families’ minds at ease during difficult hospital stays, and financial assistance for families who could not otherwise afford these health services.

Together, we can change kids’ health. Together, we can change the future. To learn about Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and your local member children’s hospital, visit cmnhospitals.org
