SALT LAKE CITY (Oct. 27, 2016) — “The Ellen Show” DJ and dancer Stephen “tWitch” Boss and his wife, “Dancing with the Stars” pro & Emmy-nominated choreographer Allison Holker, are raising funds this holiday season for children’s hospitals. The duo is calling on dancers – both professional and amateur — across North America to raise funds for 170 local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through its Dance For Kids campaign.

“As parents, we know the value in having a children’s hospital nearby to care for kids when they need it most,” Boss said. “What better way to support communities across the country than to fundraise for local children’s hospitals, and we’re excited to partner with hundreds of studios to make it happen. If you can dance, you can help kids.”

Holker adds, “As long as you have movement in your heart – you’re a dancer!  Dance for Kids is a wonderful way for any person who loves dance to come have fun, feel good, and help others.”

Holker is also cofounder of CLI Studios, which offers online dance instruction to individual dancers and studios, and Boss is a faculty member with 24 Seven Dance Convention, hosting dance workshops across the country.

Dancers and dance studios are invited to sign up for the five-week fundraising challenge. They are encouraged to host events and invite their community to support their local children’s hospital. Studios are asked to raise a minimum of $1,500. All donations help fund local children’s hospitals’ greatest needs, which could include pediatric medical equipment, research, therapy programs and charitable care.

The top three fundraisers can send one individual to Hollywood for a celebrity event, hosted by Boss and Holker, on Saturday, December 17. The celebrity dance event will be live-streamed via DanceOn and will include surprise performances.

Dance studios can register for the fundraising challenge at danceforkids.org. To qualify for the opportunity to send a dancer to Hollywood, eligible funds must be submitted by Dec. 1. However, fundraising is encouraged through the holidays to provide as much support as possible to children’s hospitals.
